How to set different heading fonts

Hi there, 

I'm looking to change Header 3 only in my Site Styles. I'm working with a Brand Designer and would like Header 3 to serve as my subheading which means that it will have greater letter spacing and also be bolded. I've tried the custom CSS below with no luck. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? Thank you! 

h3 {
    font-family: muli; 
    font-weight: 700;
    line-height: 1.8em;
    font-style: bold;
    letter-spacing: 0.2em;
}
