Custom CSS works in the design mode but doesn't work once I'm out

I have a custom CSS for my newsletter button to match another button in the footer area.  The code works fine when I'm in the CSS section, but once I'm out it stops working.  This is the code:

.newsletter-block .newsletter-form-button:hover {
   color: #77F7FF !important;
  background: transparent !important;
  opacity:8!important;
}

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

try remove opacity:8!important; from your code
