Turned off Member Area, but Sign In is still crowding the Site Title logo in header

Turned off Member Area, but Sign In is still crowding the Site Title logo in header

I was playing around setting up my site and turned on the member area feature to see what it did but I don't want to activate it yet. I turned it back off but the Sign In link is still in the header. How do I fix this? I added a screenshot since my site isn't live yet.

My quick and dirty fix was to hide the sign-in with CSS, like so:
