Create a link to file - Skye template

The blog uses the Skye tempalte.  I am trying to add a link to a file that can be downloaded.   I have added links previously to pages etc.  When i click on the gear icon to set the link, there is no file option listed.  Is this not a function allowed in the Skye template? If so, is there a workaround?

I want to add a downloadable file to an email campagin that I am sending.  I use the  email server connected with squarspace.

If the file name is abc.pdf

You can follow this guide to upload file. 

Then the file url will be: yourdomain.com/s/abc.pdf

You can hightlight text > click "link" icon > Paste above url.
