  1. Hello How do I delete uploaded .pdf files from Squarespace when they are not visible in the file drop down menu (AVENUE template) but still discoverable through Google search? I was surprised to find out that some pdf files that I had uploaded a year ago as links to certain pages but not used any more, where still available to download if I searched my site on Google! When I go to file manager I can't see them on the drop down menu. Also, I realize different linked areas of the site display different uploaded files. Is there a central file management place where I can delete everything that is not in use? URL: www.onebreath.eu, Template: Avenue Thank youMyrto
  2. I need to add an audiobook to my list of products but the file size max. is 300mb. This seems excrutiatingly small considering people sell audiobooks and music on this platform. Does anyone know of a work-around that won't effect the file quality?
  3. I was wondering if anyone can share some ideas on how to successfully migrate a large website from Squarespace to WordPress? Steps I've already taken. I've downloaded the XML file from Squarespace I've installed the WordPress Importer Plugin I've imported the XML file into my local dev WordPress install I've installed the Import External Images Plugin The issue I'm having is that the WordPress Importer Plugin fails to download some images from the XML file. Also the Import External Images Plugin is not able to recognize some of the images from the Squarespace XML file. The pictures show but are hotlinked to Squarespace which means once I upload to production environment and cancel the squarespace account, the images will be broken. What I'm trying to accomplish is to get all the images properly uploaded to my local dev site and then migrate to production site. I've Googled this question with no good solution so far. Any Ideas? Thanks
  4. How do I replace uploaded PDF files? The Link Editor dialog is showing only 20 files. So how do I replace old files with new ones while still maintaining the same URL? In older squarespace versions, I was able to find the file, delete it, and then upload a new file with the same filename. This way, the URL didn't change and all links across my website to that file were maintained. Now, I have no way of doing this without changing every single link to the new URL of the newly uploaded file. And Searching for a filename doesn't work either. The search only returns results from the 20 listed files. Please help!
  5. I'm trying to delete old files but they are not coming up in the file search bar - it's only showing about 20 files and won't search for anything not listed. Is there a trick to get them to all show up?
  6. I have hundreds of mp3, pdf, and jpg files which I want to upload to my new site being built on SquareSpace. Ideally, I'd like to have them organized in named folders based on where they will appear on the site (watercolors, pencil drawings, photos, mp3 music files, pdf music files). I will draw upon some of the image files for the homepage - and would prefer to not upload them twice. How is this possible with the site I'm building?Thank you!
  7. I've integrated a photography slider for comparing before & afters of construction jobs. It uses the gallery block to create the comparison slider. For some reason though these sliders dont load, and it just shows the two images stacked. If i reload the page sometimes it will work however. It seems very inconsistent, across all browsers and even mobile it'll either work or not. https://www.rebuildex.com/before-and-after Here is the tut I followed to implement the comparison slider: https://www.rebeccagracedesigns.com/plugins Any suggestions or alternatives would be greatly appreciated!
  8. I basically want to embed an excel file (a data calculator) to my site. I want to drive traffic though, so I feel like embedding it in my site is a better option than just offering a download link. Is there a way to make the file that is embedded on my site unique to each visitor? Thanks.
  9. Hi all, I am using the Hyde template. I'm trying to do two things: 1) change the file names of my images in the gallery on front page and product images (without having to re upload them all). I have tried going to the options tab in the image settings (as some have suggested) but there is no option there for 'file name' ..only an image URL link (tried changing that but doesn't make a difference to the file name). Screenshot attached. 2) Add alt-text to the gallery images on the front page. I have followed the instructions by squarespace on adding alt-text to images https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206542357 but I can't get it to work at all. The text shows across the image when I write it in the Title and Description box. I want the text to be hidden, purely there as alt-text. Am I doing something wrong? screenshot attached my help to explain... Site is erikahansendesign.com incase that is helpful. Thanks all :)
  10. I'd like to allow clients to be able to submit files through a fill-in form on our site. Currently I don't see anyway to do this natively with Squarespace forms. Are there plugins that will link to a Google drive or other storage solution, and/or can this be added to a feature request for the Squarespace platform?
  11. I need to create comparison sites using different templates. I thought maybe I could export my site and import, but I know Squarespace doesn't recommend importing their own file, although they support importing other sites' formats. When trying to import, I get the error: "— com.squarespace.v6.business.content.exceptions.InvalidContentItemException: urlId cannot be null: 82RWHTREFWN3BLDNAFC6" I opened the file in Word and an xml viewer and don't see a tag (or even mention) of a urlID, or the string at the end. I get I'm trying to do something that's not recommended, but just asking to see if there is an easy fix or something I'm missing.
  12. Hi there, Wondering if this situation is possible and how'd we'd go about this on the squarespace-side of things. A client of ours is looking to create a new page on their website that will host a form that users will fill out. After the user fills out the form and submits it, they'd like it to be forwarded a specific directory within their internal file server. Configurations needed within their internal network (firewall rules for sftp etc.) is not my concern, but on the square-space end of the things, I am not too sure. I am wondering if it's at all possible to get this working within the developer mode of the website? I am really not sure where to start with this one. Is it at all possible to configure sftp to forward forms to our external IP at all from the website? Any direction/insight is greatly appreciated. Regards
  13. We want to be able to accept images from our customers. These will not be the images we use internally in our site presentation — it’s our buying public who would upload/send us the images for us to process. I see lots of different form fields for collecting, say, contact info, but no file-upload field. Is this possible? ===== Squarespace looks like a great platform for e-commerce if we have widgets to sell. Our customers would fill out a form, submit order info, then we’d fulfil that from a warehouse somewhere. We process images. Customers must be able to get images to us (both onesie-twosie images and hundreds of images in bulk, but we aren’t yet worried about bulk, we’re interested in the onesie-twosies right now). We have no warehouse with widgets to ship. Customer gets an image to us, we process it and get the results back to them. Is there a way to allow our clientele to upload images to us?
  14. How can I make sure that visitors who want to download files must fill out a form? And then on the email the visitor receives a link to download the file or downloading otherwise starts?
  15. When I try to add my .svg file as an image block I get an error message that only images are allowed. How can I add a .svg?
  16. Hi, I've followed this guide: http://answers.squarespace.com/questions/10584/how-can-i-make-a-linked-pdf-open-in-new-browser-tabwindow but there doesn't seem to be an option for opening the external link in a new window?
