Left align sub navigation text in Version 7.0– Marquee family (Alex & Sonny template)

I am trying to left align sub navigation text for the 'Discover' menu item in Version 7.0– Marquee family (Alex & Sonny template).

I have inspected the element and believe that the custom css below should work - but it isn't

.folder-child {
    text-align: left !important;
}

Would appreciate any ideas to point me in the right direction.

}
