Installing a 7.1 template on a 7.0 website?

Hi,

Is anyone aware if its possible to install a 7.1 template on a 7.0 website?

I have a website that is already live, but would like to upgrade it to 7.1 and a new theme, and then change it.
Without having to startup a new website project.
