Linking text to page is missing 'gear' icon to make selection

I am no longer able to look at all the files on one page and cannot see the full file name. This is not and improvement and the gear icon should be replaced so you have the option for both. -
Hello i'm trying to emulate this site where when you hover over a site page a dot appears on the left, I've managed to get the line above the header but no luck for the dot on the left Link to website i'm emulating is attached! https://brydellpartners.com/ Thanks!
