  1. Another option that we used recently to pause orders was to use the out of stock product status feature under the commerce section at the bottom of list. Adding the out of stock status to your product turns the add to cart button off.  We also put a note in the product description saying, Please check back soon we will be back in stock on etc etc. For all your listings you'd need to take inventory down to 0 to make this work.

  2. Agreed Brent. My 7.0 desktop site does ok but the mobile always fails. For as far back as this thread goes its obvious this is not a squarespace priority...As paul2009 reminds us, we all need to contact squarespace to voice our concerns on this topic as squarespace rarely checks the forums

  3. We are running into this issue as well (See attachment) and wrote SQSP for help here is their response below:

Thanks for getting in touch, I'd be happy to help out! I can confirm this is related to an issue with how these numbers are being calculated for the PageViews sum on our end. We’ve reported this to our Engineering team, and they’re currently prioritizing the issue. Please keep in mind that there are many moving parts we need to address before we roll out a solution. We thoroughly test all fixes before they’re released. As a result, we can’t guarantee how long it will take to fix issues like the one affecting your site. Also, because of the volume of reports we receive, we can’t always follow up personally when the issue is resolved. In the meantime, I'd recommend utilizing a third party service like Google Analytics and also tracking the numbers from the graph itself versus the estimated total sum that is currently not accurately reflecting the sums. We have more info on utilizing Google Analytics here:

I'm sorry I'm not able to give you a more positive response, but I hope this was helpful! If you have any questions or concerns in the future, don't hesitate to reach out to us!

  4. We all need to contact squarespace customer service and request item specific shipping. Our company is in the same boat. We ship perishable goods as well...Right now we are using weight based shipping and it works really well because all our product offerings are about the same weight (11 pounds) but we want to offer bigger combo packs(30pounds) and that will throw a total wrench into the shipping tables so haven't found a way to set that up properly with the current shipping tables

  5. Hello Ben, Brand new to shipping and have been using shipstation synced with squarespace for about 6months with great success. I can count on 2 occasions in that time that squarespace connection was disconnected from our shipstation. One was a shipstation issue and they resolved the issue with in an hour and was back in business. The other time Squarespace just lost connection with shipstation so I went into the store setup section in shipstation and reconnected our squarespace store which takes two seconds. see video. The customer service has always been super responsive and we've found that shipstation offers some options others dont like pick-lists, printing labels and packing slips together as well as multi-box orders to name a few. Bottom-line Shipstation and Squarespace connection has been very reliable.

  6. Added an image of something that popped up on the backend of my website in the Commerce section.  A survey by Squarespace asking "How do your customers receive orders?" If you haven't already taken it do so as it gives you a chance to put in some wish list items under the "What would you like to see in Squarespace Commerce" I've attached a picture on where to find it in the commerce section. Lets give squarespace some feedback on what we'd like see improved904136961_SquarespaceCommerceSurvey.thumb.jpg.021657fbf0bcf45a3350f5ff04fe4946.jpg!

  7. If you're using 7.0

Go to Design > Site Styles and look for the HEADER: LAYOUT section. There's a setting called Cart Position and you can change the position to Hide. Once you save the settings, the cart icon will be hidden on desktop. Note that there's a second setting for the mobile view in the MOBILE:CART section

Publishing three sites with SS now, one is 7.0 and two are 7.1 and knowing about Core Web Vitals since last fall, I was told then that it was an experiment and to pay it no mind and all Squarespace ranks poorly on Google crawlers so I wasn't alone.

Now it is no longer a trial and my sites ALL fall in the red, as in 0-49 level, and my urls are poor, still after working tirelessly adjusting images and shortening urls for almost 8 months now.

I think Squarespace Developers can come up with a solution. They usually do, but I want to see them address it and help us with it, outside of forums. This is a concern, even with my 7.1 sites!

So far nothing I have done on the surface of the site from image shrinking to changing url directions, has brought my score up. If anyone has any ideas I'm following!

Thanks for the feedback primal, sounds like you've put in the work to try and clean things up to dial in your core web vitals and still getting the same results...good to know.

Here is squarespaces response my google search console question - "First I wanted to start by clarifying that Google Search Console, while it is a great resource to use for your site, is not necessarily optimized for analyzing sites built on a CMS (Content Management System) like Squarespace. It's algorithm for detecting inaccuracies that it thinks is incorrect, doesn't necessarily mean that it's a genuine issue on our platform. They use a set formula to apply to a wide variety of different CMS systems. Alas, they don't have a specific algorithm for detecting Squarespace-specific issues. This shouldn't affect your ranking, as it's more about alerting you of ways to improve your site. They're ultimately providing a blanket diagnosis. I'd also like to note that because Google Search Console is a third party tool, it would also be outside of our scope of support to interpret emails like this from Google Search Console. With that said, we do have a guide here that covers some of the errors and emails that you may see: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206543207-Understanding-Google-SEO-emails-and-console-errors"
