  1. Here's a document they posted on the recent updates shortly after you wrote in, it was shared w/me on another thread about same - https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206543207-Understanding-Google-SEO-emails-and-console-errors?_ga=2.135233396.477403077.1620692389-1829148435.1618525029
  2. Thank you for sharing this! I will look through the FAQ doc you sent. I've found that third party SEO Tools, in addition to Console, shows many errors I can't fix, so I will just repair what I can, and keep it moving. It seems if I want to stay on SS, I will have to live with an imperfect report from all outside search tools.
  3. Thank you for sharing this message. Squarespace is usually on it, so far nothing I've done surface level has worked yet. Fingers crossed the HTML wizards holier than I can figure it out in time!
  4. Publishing three sites with SS now, one is 7.0 and two are 7.1 and knowing about Core Web Vitals since last fall, I was told then that it was an experiment and to pay it no mind and all Squarespace ranks poorly on Google crawlers so I wasn't alone. Now it is no longer a trial and my sites ALL fall in the red, as in 0-49 level, and my urls are poor, still after working tirelessly adjusting images and shortening urls for almost 8 months now. I think Squarespace Developers can come up with a solution. They usually do, but I want to see them address it and help us with it, outside
  5. Okay, thank you. I'll check into the font thing and the image compressing I will do. Hopefully soon or one day there will be a way to migrate.
  6. Thomspon So far we narrowed it down to two fonts, and I'm not sure how to compress images just yet! Do you have a tool you like?
  7. Okay, great. Thank you! I'm going to look into that. Ours our dropping too, but there was another Google update on Friday, and I'm going through the Google Search Quality Evaluator Rating Guidelines to see if I can make any updates to improve the site outside of Speed, too. - Amanda
  8. Hey ThomsonWebDesign, I'm looking at 7.1 now (https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027708412-About-Squarespace-version-7-1) and didn't even know they had a new version. That's amazing and thank you! You're probably right and I wonder if it's possible for me to switch templates...
  9. Do you mind if I ask what changes you made so far? This is what Google released this week on the whole sitespeed rating thing - https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2019/11/search-console-speed-report.html It's an experimental test, so how SS or other platform sites rank could change. While critical and I'm working on optimizing it now, to see what if anything I can do, it's only one of the many metrics for how a page does or ranks. I am also wondering what the SS developers are doing to adapt to these changes, they seem quick enough.
  10. Hey Andy, I have just posted a thread here - I included some changes I made that created minimal difference, but even if it's only 1-4 points, it's still an increase. I just wanted to let you know I'm working hard over here trying to find a solution, and will update you if anything works that I find. Others are in the same boat!
  11. Hey Guys! Google Search Console updated its metrics for Site Speed this last week, and after months on the rise, my website views are now on the downfall. It's not a critical tank, but you can see that it's slowly going down and down. I've reached out to SS support, and they said my site is excellent and running smoothly on their end, but my Google Search Console is filled with Page Speed errors and that combined with the tanking viewership, the data shows otherwise. I've read through every SS document, removed as much custom code as I can find and do without, simplified my t
