Vertically center image caption on hover

Hi all!

I am trying to alter the hover state of an image caption by increasing the colored band to cover the full image on hover, and vertically and horizontally align the image caption text. I was able to get the colored background to cover the full image, and center the text horizontally, but I cannot get the vertical alignment to budge! Any ideas on what line of code I need to change??
