I am having a similar request from register.com for my Squarespace hosted site. Did you get a response?

Same issue here. Register.com is sending me emails about a CSR twice a day for about two weeks. I know I have an SSL with Squarespace and technically don't need register.com's SSL certificate, but I'm being charged $10 a month for Xpress and there is no way to cancel it.

My friend is using name.com as domain registrar and CSR (certificate signing request)
