7.1: Site language not changing when selected in settings

Hello,

We have recently upgraded our site from 7.0 to 7.1, but the default text, such as on store pages, is not switching to the correct language. I have selected French (Canada), yet all the default text, such as the checkout page, shows in English. Other topics mention a 'localize site' toggle, but it does not show up. I have attached an image of what I see when changing the language- clicking save does not actually change anything.

Is there any way to fix this and have default squarespace-generated text show up in the correct language (French)?
