Split Section Landing Page

Hello! I want to create a split section landing page that looks like this:

However, what I've managed to accomplish only looks like this:

Can anyone help sharing how to extend the background all the way? Thank you! 

You can add 2 sections, then we can give code to make them side by side, and use code to add an image between 2 sections
