Footer navigation outside of them

Hello,

For a while now I have been trying to organize the pages in my footer into catagories rather than just the 3 colums that come with the Jaunt theme and I have had a some quotes which I just cant afford.

I think I have found a way to do it but im concerned that its outside the structure of the theme and im worried that this will confuse things from an SEO perspective, maybe it will muck up the sitemap?

All I have done (and I have no idea why I didnt think of this before) is add text below the footer in the same way that youd add text to any other part of the page and mannually linked them.

For the time being I have both the Theme footer and my footer live and I would like to know if I go ahead and get rid of the theme footer.
