Image cut in half on mobile version

Hi there 

I am having issues with images that I want to use for buttons. As soon I turn them into links, they are cut in half on the mobile version my phone. See pics below: 

It is the "Back" buttons" and "send mail" button. They look fine when they are not links. Am I doing anything wrong?
