New video hosting on Squarespace Vs Vimeo embedding

A few weeks ago I began building a video heavy site for my fashion film brand.

I have just come back to it, having been working on some other stuff. 

I see that Squarespace has recently added video hosting onto the platform.

I guess my initial question is...

What's better embedding Vimeo or Squarespace hosting? 

Which one is better for SEO, for speed, for reliability, for flexibility etc?

Did you ever decide which was better? My comedy group has a series of videos and we planned to release them on a schedule but want to do a good job and have the possibility of hosting or releasing virtual live shows as well - was curious about Vimeo too. thanks!
