7.1 Slideshow formatting woe on mobile view

I am using 7.1 and have a slideshow on my trial homepage. It all looks fine but as soon as you switch to mobile view it looks awful. The formatting does not extend to mobile in regards to ratio. 

I am looking to have the slideshow as 16:9 on mobile view also but it seems like 7.1 can't handle it!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
