Adding a background color and drop shadow on Product block

I have a section on my website to showcase recent favorites -- I'd like to set the products off a little better by adding a different background color (in this case, white) and either a border or drop shadow. I've tried a few variations I've found on here but so far I haven't had any luck.

it seems you added background color?

Tuanphan -- yes I did that by uploading a colored banner. I want to keep the background color and add white blocks around the whole container for the product if that makes sense so it sets them off a bit better. The white should include the product, price and add to cart button.
