Disable page items Clay template

Hi there, On squarespace 'Styling the Events Page' it says I can check the 'Disable Item Pages to disable the title links to individual event pages, When left unchecked, clicking an event's title opens the individual event page'.I've checked the tick box in the site styles but my events are still linking through to their individual pages. I'm using Clay template. Id be extremely grateful for any help. Thanks :)
