Hi all - I could really use some help on Domain DNS records and email forwarding …
My domain 'tudberry.net' has various email forwarding rules set up to forward '<name>@tudberry.net' emails to associated <name>@gmail.com accounts. I use a 3rd party service (authsmtp.com) to send emails from tudberry.net using gmail.
I had been getting some issues with my emails not arriving / getting bounced and realised that DMARC and DKIM domain DNS records were not configured for authsmtp.com. I set these records up on Wed 12/6 and this fixed the issue.
Here's the problem: unfortunately, I also (stupidly) deleted the 'email forwarding' mailgun DNS records (not realising what they were for) and forwarded emails stopped arriving. I added the deleted records back manually, later on Wednesday, but something was wrong as emails were still not being forwarded. The records I deleted were two 'mailgun' MX records and a 'k1._domainkey' DKIM record [1].
I used squarespace chat on Weds who said the DNS records 'looked ok' and I should wait 3 days.
Yesterday (Friday 14/6), emails were still not being forwarded. I found a squarespace help article [2] that says the required DNS records are automatically created when email forwarding is set up. So, I deleted the DNS records I'd manually re-added ('mailgun' MX + 'k1._domainkey' DKIM), deleted all my email forwarding rules, then recreated just the email forwarding rules. I then waited to see if necessary DNS records would be automatically regenerated + emails start forwarding again. It's now Saturday (15/6), no DNS new records seem to have magically appeared and email is not being forwarded.
I'm getting a bit desperate now as all family users of this domain are not getting any email and are probably missing important comms. I keep trying support, but chat has been mostly unavailable. I sent a support email yesterday, but no response.
Any suggestions on the DNS records that need to be added to get email forwarding working again?
Much appreciated! Andrew.

For info, here's the SPF that has not been changed, should still be fine. SPF is related to outgoing emails and not forwarding, but perhaps mailgun does need an SPF entry to forward emails … ?

[2] Squarespace Help Guide: Create an email forwarding rule
https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/19000909092237-Email-forwarding-with-a-Squarespace-domain
When you create an email forwarding rule, we'll automatically add some TXT and MX records to the DNS settings panel of your domain in an Email forwarding section. We use Mailgun as our email forwarding service provider, so some of these records will include references to "Mailgun" in the Data fields. Removing these records will break your email forwarding rules.
