Hi Community,
Parents at child care centres often get a Parent Handbook emailed to them as a PDF. Most parents read this information on their phones and a A4 PDF, even with links and larger text, it isn't very user friendly on mobile (or desktop for that matter). I had the idea to present this information to parents on our Squarespace website instead.
Here's an example of a Parent Handbook PDF from another provider: https://www.kidsclubchildcare.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/20200721-KidsClub_Parent_Tour_Book_Portrait_V5.pdf
Ideally, I thought this could sit on a sub domain (e.g. handbook.websitename.com.au) and create a "mini website" with the search function turned on and use the main navigation with several pages and subpages so they can find their way around easily. If I do this, do I need to create a whole new Squarespace site and pay for another subscription? I won't link have a link on our main website to this subdomain as it's only for parents (understand it'll still be searchable on the web and that's fine).
The other option I thought I could do, was use the "Portfolio" collection to help organise this information. I would make this a non-linked collection on the website. Using "Portfolio" would let me drag around the order of the sections, and it gives the user the "go back to previous page" "go forward to next page" functionality at the bottom of the pages to help them read through the information. I could add a bar or button to the top and bottom of each "Portfolio" page that links back to the whole "Portfolio".
I'd be grateful for any advice - thank you!
