I just spoke to Customer Care, it's a case of clearing browsing data: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205815408-Clearing-your-browser-s-cache I followed the instructions here and it worked for me. Too much in the cache causes the insane lag and unresponsiveness. I hope this helps
