Hi,

Has anyone else noticed that banner images don't display on desktop in Windows 11? They display on mobile devices though. I checked other browsers on Browserstack and Windows 11 is the browser not showing. So I don't think it's a local issue with my device. I see coloured blocks instead of video, and coloured blocks instead of images. I hadn't 'upgraded' to Fluid Engine. I've just switched Fluid Engine off in my Circle Settings, and tried to re-insert the image, but that didn't work either.

Last week my embedded videos were working fine in desktop and mobile view. This morning, mobile view the videos are pushing all the content out of alignment. As if the embed block is suddenly too large for the page and the video is going into the right margin. Is anyone else having this problem. Nothing else on the site changed.

I tried adding this code to target the videos in CSS but it has no effect on them.

They are embed codes from a paid YouTube account. Example code:

Any suggestions appreciated! I can't give the website because it is a client's, behind a password with proprietary info.

Can anyone help on how to change the position of the 'next event-last event' navigation links at the bottom of each event page please?  The right side is  obscured by a help chat button. I can't move the button anywhere else, so was hoping to move the navigation up or / increase the page margin at bottom so that there's more white space below the navigation links.

Does anyone know how to autoplay a video once in 7.1? My videos autoplay fine, but I'd prefer them to only do it once, regardless of whether a visitor lets it play to the end or not.

I have paid YouTube and Vimeo accounts and Squarespace business plan.  I understand that I can't set loop=0 because that is 'false' so it won't autoplay at all.

I tried this in the page header code using the block yui code for video id, but it didn't work.

@paul2009 Hi Paul, thanks so much for getting back to me. It confirms that there isn't a more obvious way. I think I can work out on the code required based on some tutorials for overlapping images. You've saved me a lot of time and I'll try with CSS.

@paul2009 Following up on this. I wonder if you could advise how I could put a PNG image on top of an image in 7.1 please? Directly on top in the centre. It seems like such a simple thing, but none of SS7.1 image types seem to allow it.

The only way I can do it is to make the bottom image a background of a whole section and the image should be smaller than that. I guess I could try to bring the margins in of that one section? I think I must be missing the obvious though.

The reason I want to layer the png on top of the background image is because it contains script font text and for responsive reasons would be better as an overlay. Saving it directly on top of the bottom image is my last resort.

Can anyone help please? What's the best way to add a .png image with transparency on top of an image? It's an inline image, not in a summary block or carousel. It seems that none of the image options (inline, stack etc) allow an overlay image though.

The png I'm trying to layer on top is a graphic from my client of 2 fancy coloured script fonts with transparent background. I'd rather add it as an overlay than save it direct to the image for responsive purposes.

Can anyone help please?

So far I can only add it if the image underneath is a background to a whole section. It really doesn't warrant being that big.

I've seen a tutorial for this as hover with CSS. But thought there must be a more straightforward way 🙂 Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. A title in the calendar is no good without a description and a link.

I also saw the poor reviews for Eventable. An 8 hour lag in events showing up on the client's calendar was one complaint. No free trial with Eventable, which is probably because it has these problems.

I have 2 sections on a page. Top is for desktop, bottom is for mobile. I successfully hid the top section in mobile view thanks to code found here. I now need to hide the bottom section in desktop view.

This is the code that I used to hide for mobile

Thank you for getting back to me. Very kind. I have found a workaround by adding text links in excerpt and buttons to the individual events. Just strange that the summary blocks can show any. Thanks anyway. It's a 7.1 quirk I guess.

Hi, How does everyone manage with no buttons on the 7.1 event page? They can view the event, but then can't do anything like click to join. Most of my events are digital, so clients would expect a link to a webinar or live stream once they have landed on the page. I have been manually adding buttons to the individual event pages, but can't add them to excerpt, meaning none show on the complete event page. Very odd! I need clients to be able to book 2-3 seminars quickly, but the event pages are slowing everything down. Clients click from the summary on the main page to land on one and book that, then get directed to the Events page where there is only info and no way to book others. Very odd! Not sure that Squarespace can handle digital events now.

Any experience of this or advice on getting around it would be appreciated. Thanks!
