It's pretty infuriating to find out the limitation of the Portfolio page AFTER having set up the whole thing...And it becomes even more infuriating to discover that the function has been requested for 3 years now and nothing has been done...Meanwhile, I see posts that ask what people would like in version 8.0 ! Argh.

Ah, yet another unhappy customer here.
I built out my homepage using the portfolio template. In hindsight, a horrible mistake. A simple solution for me would have been to duplicate this page and strip out of the portfolio section to maintain the rest of the homepage layout and styling. unfortunately this is still not possible, which means I'll have to build that home page again and then repurpose this portfolio page to house my work. 
p.s. Squarespace, if you are listening and plan to make this happen -  it would be nice to have a block to call back to a set number of "featured" portfolio items. this was my original plan for my homepage before I discovered this missing ability.

I am also requesting to be able to duplicate the portfolio-page (not just sub-pages), when some of my clients wants to have part of their portfolio on the home page, and then just all collected projects on another one. We need this to be updated! Please. 
I feel like the portfolio-part of Squarespace isn't really being updated, I would also like to be able to put a Pinterest-pin on all the pictures in my sub-pages, and its possible everywhere BUT on my sub-pages...

is anyone from SS actually listening? This thread is two years old and still no progress. The fact that there is no ability to duplicate portfolios or move projects from one portfolio to another means we have to replicate the work ourselves, wasting countless hours. Any way to expedite this process?

As a SS user who is learning as I go, I am both reassured by this forum that I'm not missing something basic, and CANNOT believe there is no functionality to duplicate a Portfolio. This seems like a pretty basic request, and one that users have been making for a long time now. I would also appreciated the option to hide or password protect individual pages within a Portfolio so that you can leave the up-to-date ones live while you add new content, without having to hide the whole portfolio. Come on, Squarespace!

I am so on board with some sort of feature to make the Portfolio work better.  Is there a way to move one project from one portfolio to another?

I need the ability to turn 'off' and 'on' different Portfolio projects (or Items) within a Portfolio. But that functionality does not exist. I tried this solution, but it did not work for me:  
 
 
 
So I thought the work-around would be to duplicate the entire Portfolio, and have that version of the Portfolio not contain the Items I want to hide and make it available to select clients via a link.
But......I cannot duplicate a Portfolio Page!! So frustrating.
Please SquareSpace....this feature request on this thread alone goes back 2 1/2 years.
I hope it will be available soon.

Thank you for sharing that article. Is this portfolio duplication function on the SS development schedule? And/or has it been logged? With utmost respect to SS and its team members, this missing option is truly infuriating, and my request echos with the rest of the SS users.

I have a financial client and we are trying to use Portfolios to block out different sections of the website for their different member areas. Pushing SS to its limits here. For our sake, it makes WAY more sense to create pages within a portfolio and duplicate said portfolio (adjusting minor thematics accordingly), than to recreate the whole thing over and over again whenever they onboard a new client.

Has anyone else has found a workaround, or have another idea to achieve this? Please chime in. 🙂

Agree with the above. This is pretty annoying. Why it's not available is doesn't make much sense  

Agree with @DV2 that these are features I'd love to see added. They'd make a huge difference for Members Areas! Let's go Squarespace!!!!

Just throwing in my agreement that Portfolios could benefit from two features:
1) The ability to duplicate a portfolio (to maintain styling etc. when adding a new portfolio)
2) The ability to add pagination at say 10, 40, 100 items to exceed the 40-item limit.

WHY SQUARESPACE doesn't allow the duplication of portfolio page! WHYYYYYYY??????

@MaryPhilip_ That extension is no longer available. Any other suggestions. The 40 item limit within a portfolio coupled with the inability to copy said portfolio once a user (i.e. me) discovers the limit is beyond infuriating. Any ideas?

With the new members areas and the Portfolio section being  a useful solution to hosting courses and modules, this really needs updating to reflect these changes.

I was hoping it would point me to the solution. Unfortunately this just verifies the complaint that portfolio collections are not supported with the duplicate tool for some reason. Sub-pages, yes. Portfolio collections, no.

The duplicate page option that is available on all other pages, does not seem available on portfolio collection pages. See attached images.

I am using the new squarespace 7.1 and my client wants to have on the nav bar links so people can view what work is pharma and another link to show what's not.
On squarespace 7, we could duplicate the index to the not linked folder and add a link on the top bar connecting to that index page. It was easier for me to do that.
My client wants to keep the thumbnail layout throughout these two subcategories, and I can't seem to find a way to duplicate the portfolio collection nor duplicate a page inside that collection and move to another collection. This is very frustrating to see that squarespace lost a really good tool.
Or am I missing something?
