@tuanphan wow, so wonderful that you shared this, thanks a lot! Exactly what I was looking for and am excited to try it out. One question, though. I also have a Universal Filter Plugin code in my blog's advanced settings. Will that cause any disturbances? I'm only asking before pasting your code because I can't test it right now. Any thoughts would be much appreciated! Cheers, Mirjam

@WillMyers thanks a lot for your kind words! I'm a big admirer of what you do! Keep teaching us 😄

@Zaff_26, I get it. It can be overwhelming, especially if you're more focused on the creative side of things. I find it helpful to connect with people who specialize in areas where I'm less confident—it can save a lot of time and headaches 🙂. I mentioned the SEOSpace Plugin for Squarespace for a reason. It makes identifying issues quick, easy, and straightforward. Check out this video by @philpallen (I hope I'm tagging the right person- the name is correct, though) who does a great job of breaking down how the process works. Scan your site here to get a better overview of what needs fixing 🙂. While you're at it, be sure to check out their resources page—there’s a lot of helpful info there. Lastly, when you sign up for your free account, make sure you're subscribed to the SEOSpace Plugin newsletter. One big benefit is that you can ask any SEO-related questions to a community focused entirely on SEO. Through the newsletter, you can see what community members are asking and answers to questions you might also be asking. @SEOSpace_Henry drops his wisdom and help there too so you'll be in great hands. Keep up the great work! Feel free to ask if you have any questions—I'll do my best to help or point you in the right direction 🙂. Cheers from Berlin!

How to add second button to menu navigation
mirjamhlastan replied to Kalie's topic in Customize with code
@Kalie additional resource is also a free code snippet from GhostPlugins. You can find it here! I've used a lot of plugins and custom templates from GhostPlugins and they are simple and easy to apply, have clear step-by-step instructions, and even the code is written in a way that you know exactly where the specific plugin code starts and ends which is very helpful especially when you have a long piece of code to work with. Hope this helps 🙂 Cheers from Berlin, Mirjam- 4 replies

Hi, have you gone through the diagnostics and implemented the changes yet? From what I'm seeing (and understanding) you can still do some polishing on the images, however, JavaScript, CSS are at the top of the list. @SEOSpace_Henry is also the person to follow and check in with regards to anything SEO 🙂 I'd also sign up to his YouTube channel if I were you.

Hey Gregory, First off, congratulations on launching your free plugins site! 🎉 it's a solid idea, and it’s great to see you putting this together. I took a look at your website and wanted to offer a few suggestions that might help improve things overall. 1. Intro/About: You’re missing a couple of key things that are essential for any website, especially when it comes to building trust with your audience. Before even considering your plugins I should have answers to: Who are you? What do you do? How can you help me? It’s clear you’re offering free plugins, but why should I trust your code? What makes your plugins unique or better than your competitors? A quick intro text on the homepage would help. Also, a more detailed "About Us" page where you show your team, experience, and mission would help with building trust. 2. Confusion around services: Initially, I thought you were offering 3 free plugins and a paid subscription. After clicking on the subscription image, I realized it’s also a free plugin, but the image had me expecting to enter a sales funnel. 🤔 I’d suggest clearing up the messaging here to avoid that confusion. 3. CTA Button Issues: The "Contact Us" button takes me back to the free plugin page, which left me feeling a bit lost. When someone clicks a "Contact Us" button, they expect to see a form or an email link or be taken to Contact Us page, so this is something to look into. 4. Service Page & Pricing Breakdown: Since you’re offering services, it’d make sense to have a Service page with a breakdown of what you offer, especially if you introduce paid options later. Even though everything’s free now, having a clear structure will help with professionalism, user experience, and again - building trust. People are less likely to use or buy something if they’re confused about the offering, and trust is essential, right? Also, consider implementing a shopping chart. 5. Testimonials / Reviews: Social proof is everything these days. Who’s used your plugins? Do you have any feedback or testimonials from early users? Even if it’s just a few, this could boost credibility. Also, your claim of being the "No. 1 for free Squarespace plugins" might come off a bit strong, especially since there are already some big players out there in this space. Consider rephrasing it to be more approachable. 6. Legal Requirements: Every site needs the basics: Privacy Policy, Cookies Policy, Terms & Conditions, and Accessibility. For policies and T&C I use iUbenda and for accessibility UserWay Widget for accessibility. It’s pretty straightforward to set up and ensures your site stays compliant with continuous scanning and adaptation to new legacies. 7. SEO: SEO is huge for getting discovered. Make sure your site is optimized for search engines, with proper keywords and structure to help people find your plugins. SEOSpace is a great help! head over to their site for a free SEO site audit and helpful resources (blog, YouTube, webinars). Inspiration for Improvement: Here are a few other Squarespace plugin creators I admire. It's worth checking them out and studying how they’ve set things up: Ghost Plugins – They’re spot-on with their design and branding, plus they answer all the key questions I mentioned earlier. They also offer a staggering library of 500+ free plugins. You can learn a lot from them! Pay special attention to the info they have in their footer. @WillMyers – He’s got a great mix of free and paid resources, and he also creates video tutorials that show how to install plugins, adding a personal touch. Check out also his articles: Will Myers Resources (filter for "Free Only" - below the categories on the left side). Attached screenshot: 250+ 5 star ratings. Don’t take my word for it, people Will talk. Love the wordplay here also.😎 Details matter! Spark Plugins – they offer a 14-day free trial to let people try before they commit. It’s a great strategy to encourage trust. Square Kicker – like Spark, but with more variety and depth in their plugin offerings. I’m only sharing two channels, not to overwhelm you, because they’re both super resourceful. It’s better to focus on quality over quantity! 1. The Website Architect: 2. David Alex: I hope this helps! 😊 If you have any questions or need further feedback, feel free to reach out. Best wishes with everything, and I’m looking forward to seeing where you take this project. Cheers from Berlin, 🕊️ Mirjam PS: Some of the links I’ve shared are affiliate links. I only recommend products I genuinely love and use, and there’s no extra cost for you if you decide to check them out.

Hey Greenlight711, Hope you’re doing well! I don't believe there is a native Squarespace feature that functions exactly like a text marquee, but you could get pretty close with a plugin like Super Autoplay Slideshow ➡️ (affiliate) there is also a GIF from GhostPlugins that shows it in action. It comes with a lot of handy features, including: Autoplay (with an adjustable timer) Transparent header Looping slides Custom text alignment, size, and colors Adjustable slideshow height You can also turn autoplay on/off, so it’s easy to apply selectively to just the slideshows you need. I’ve been redesigning my own site after the upgrade to 7.1 and it was a game changer when I came across GhostPlugins (affiliate). They offer 500+ plugins completely for free, beautiful Squarespace templates and custom design service. I’m currently working with their Wallet template (affiliate), and honestly, I can’t wait to get it live! ✨😻✨ Their customer support is incredible too—they’ve been super responsive and helpful - 🥳 shout out to Koda! - and the plugins are a breeze to install (literally just copy/paste). I highly recommend checking out their library—there’s a good chance you’ll find something that levels up your site exactly how you want. If you decide to purchase anything, you can use my code MIRJAMHLASTAN at checkout for 10% OFF. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers! (P.S. Some of the links above are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you decide to make a purchase—at no extra cost to you.)

Hey Michael, I hope this message finds you well and that you have resolved your issue by now. I just saw your question and just wanted to drop my thoughts, in case you haven't. From what you're saying, I think there is a good chance that your old template was running on 7.0, and the second you changed it to Brine you updated it to 7.1. You can find the version info under "Website", scroll down to "Utilities" and you will see the version number at the bottom. See the attached files for both options, 7.0 and 7.1. If that's the case, I'm sorry to be the barrier of bad news but you can't go back from 7.1 to 7.0. Unless you duplicated your website with an old template naturally you can just use that again. Mirjam
