I found this: https://curiousrefuge.com/blog/remove-squarespace-header-footer Don't know if it's going to help since the first code they recommend is the same as what you used but they also have a couple more options.

Hi! If I understand correctly you just want a landing page that has no links showing anywhere? If you add the blank page under "Not Linked" it won't show any navigation.
