Is it possible to make a single redirect ignore a final slash

Recommended Posts

We're using a redirect from the alias /air to a page /artist-in-residence. I found that omitting the final slash means that a user typing /air/ gets a 404 "not found" error and vice versa. I've set up redirects from both /air and /air/ to the same page, and they work. Is that the only solution?

The redirect tool on our WordPress site lets us make a redirect more user-friendly with checkboxes for "ignore final slash" and "ignore case." I don't find anything comparable on our Squarespace site. In the help system and this forum I found one statement that omitting the final slash is "correct" and that redirects are case-sensitive but users aren't predictable.
