Kiwibob2908
ScreamingFrog reports H1 missing. I know that there is Meta 1 Description data. What else could be causing this problem for me and how do I fix it? Link to comment
Solution qosmic Posted April 27, 2023 Solution Share Posted April 27, 2023 (edited) H1 is different than a meta-description. H stands for heading. Headings (H1, H2, H3...) are not just font styling, like in a word processor. Originally, they were meant to be more like the tiers of an outline, where there was only one H1 text, typically the title or topic of the page. These days, Google is smart, and they make it clear that they can figure out your headings and a missing H1 tag isn't the end of the world. However, just from a due diligence standpoint, all the SEO audit tools still flag it. If you don't need it, it's probably not hurting your SEO. Kiwibob2908
Thanks for replying Qosmic. I paid someone to build my site a few years ago and think the H1 maybe replaced by my Logo. qosmic 1 Link to comment
JenSEO
Although this may sound less of a concern but the fact that Google flags it as an issue, it's something that is to be taken seriously. Just think of the very fact that Google is a search engine that manages your page's search ranking. Headers like H1 affects your search ranking. Why? because the user or the searcher matches your pages' headers to their queries. Makes sense, right? Link to comment
Sunnyday
Having the same issues....being said...H1 missing, but the blog post titles are all H1, at least what i thought and read over the last 10-15 years. So Google is just ignoring them? Any insides on that?! Would be amazing to know what it could be? Thought SS is so amazing with SEO...any tipp why blog titles are just dismissed? Link to comment
