Outbound links

Hello, I am trying to figure out how to track outbound referrals. I am going to direct sales of my product to another retailer, and would like to track how many people I send their way. I have searched high and low and the only information I can find is to do it via Google Analytics. Unfortunately, I find Google Analytics very hard to use and confusing. Is there an easier way to do it, such as bitly or something else. Many thanks!
