Custom Placeholder Text Within Product Form

Using jquery selectors worked perfect on Squarespace form blocks but I want to add date placeholders to a product form lightbox. Neither options below worked correctly for me. 

Select the Photo Count, Title, and Add to Cart, then the Form asking for the date will popup as a lightbox (I wish to add MM DD YYYY) to the product form's date section.
