Making a gallery slideshow reel thats only two images

Hi there new at all this

Hope someone can help. I am trying to get the gallery slideshow I have working just as I need it to.

Firstly, I'd like it to work well for just two images. At the moment the best I can do is get a single image in the middle and then the other image is split eitherside of that one, I'd love it if they were next to one another. I would then also love it so when I click the arrows they change their position and also maybe even have this on a timer.  Is this possible or is there a better way to do this? 

The other need I have is to use a hoverover where I can get text to appear other the images, I have the images as links to other pages which is awesome but a name to appear over the top would be excellent. Is there anyway to do this?

Thanks for your help, I believe this is a 7.1 site or at least the newer site type tha squarespace use now
