Export sales data by item

So when I receive a big batch of orders it would be helpful to quickly export how many of each individual item was ordered.  

I've found a way to do it by date, but I would love to do it by order status.  Also, they way I've found to do it isn't terribly convenient.  Any help with this would be appreciated.
