Simple Question? Transferring from GoDaddy

Hey y'all

Simple problem I hope. Own domain and email on GoDaddy. Built site on Squarespace. Want to transfer domain to squarespace so I can publish what I have built. Do I need to transfer my whole domain including email to Squarespace? If so I guess I can cancel my account over there altogether once this is done?

Advice / feedback / answer appreciated. New to website building and owning of domains. LOVE the look of what I have built so I would love to preserve it.
