    I realize that SS does not provide this.  CloudFlare can do this but because I would have to use a proxy squarespace does not appear to work as I've tried.  This is the last piece of the puzzle for my website and I have to block certain countries (or continents) as I do have to comply with some licensing agreement that restricts this and though I do know that my site (any site for that matter) can usually be bypassed by using a vpn, I at least need to be able to show that I have something in place.  I did see a 2020 (link below) and a response from circle member @paul2009 that talks about this, but seeing that this is 4 years old and technology changes every day, I just wanted to check to see if anyone had any updated recommendations (though I will continue to look at Paul's advice) on other security services that will work with SquareSpace and give me this ability.  Paying a fee to a provider is not going to be an issue but paying a fee for breaking a license agreement will 😂.  I'd rather pay now than pay later.

    As always, thanks in advance.

  2. I've been saying for months that my site does not work on mobile and received an email from tech support telling me basically, too bad.

    I've asked tech support for a full refund since I have not been able to publish my site because of all the inconsistencies that SS has.  The extra space that come out of nowhere and their email to me admitting there is nothing they can do for me is a breach of services.  What's even more interesting is that  if I were to rebuild portions of my site using 7.0, it appears to work.  And I've discovered that if I turn my site landscape, all the spacing issues disappear.  It's weird and i'm no longer frustrated at this process anymore I just gave up.  I'm going to get a wordpress teacher and start from scratch.  I said all that to say thank you though.  I appreciate your reply.

    And someone asked me if I tried it in 7.0.  I have not and the only reason that I did not was because I thought at some point they were going to force users to go to 7.1 and that would completely mess up everyone's site and I didn't want to recreate the wheel.

    SS may come up with something I don't know nor care but my gut tells me they won't so I wanted to just show my appreciation for all of you who tried to answer my question.

    Please take care and have a wonderful life.

  3. Thank you all for your support over these past few months.  I've asked tech support for a full refund since I have not been able to publish my site because of all the inconsistencies that SS has.  The response from Darius X. telling me to decrease the hight of the text block is the one of the most stupidist things I have ever heard of in my life because since he was given the code to the site, he would have clearly seen that there is NO text block that need to be manually adjusted.  The extra space that come out of nowhere and their email to me admitting there is nothing they can do for me is a breach of services.   And, I've explained to him that while it looks fine on the desktop and mobile desktop versions, this spacing issue only shows up using an actual iPhone/Android and I have had several friends try and they get the same thing.  I did discover that if I turn my site landscape, all the spacing issues disappear, but it should work in landscape or portrait.  It's weird but i'm no longer frustrated at this process anymore I just gave up.  I'm going to get a wordpress teacher and start from scratch.  I said all that to say thank you though to all of you who have put up my my complaining.  I'm going to do everything in my power to get my money back and move on.  You are all very much appreciated.

  4. Go for it.  The passcode is 1695.  I'm unlocking it right now because I am actually in the middle of responding back to support.  the webpage itself is fine, when I look at it on the mobile it's completely and utterly and dismally off! I've just corrected most of it.  I have no CSS at all and it's still wrong.  I have had spacing issues with SS since day one and I'm exhausted and drained of this.  I've edit the page wide, but then it makes the text box double up and I then have to to through each text box and fit it.  I can't get paragraphs to be equally spaced due to squarespace system so I have to put text all in one text box.  Then I'm told no I should break it up but then it moves when I edit it.  It's 1:28 AM and I should be in bed but i'm correcting what truly is a very simple site.  Pics and videos, that's it.  I'm using fluid engine I'm using because using 7.0, I cannot control the the spacing of the section/container and even when I got into inspect, I cannot seem to target that.  I have now corrected everything that was wrong but still the inconsistencies.  I have just changed the spacing for that particular block but to no avail.  I do have code blocks but they are page jump links to get to the section faster and that's not it because this was since day one.  I can't win with this.  I can't win.

  5. Maybe I wasn't clear so I will be more clearer.  So (a), yes, I know that this support does not monitor this forum.  I posted this so if someone else had this problem and may have had a solution then perhaps they would be nice enough to share it and (b) though I did not state this , I have been reporting this to no avail.  But I apologize that I bothered you and it won't happen again!

  6. There is no space issue on the web version, no space issue when I preview it on the webversion mobile, but when I open up safari, chrome on the iPhone, there is all this phantom space and I still haven't seen anyone from the development side come in and say a word about this, only you all in the forum who have been kind enough to try and figure it out.  This is ridiculous.  I'm never going to be able to go live because SS is extremely inconsistent.  I have not a code on my page, I've removed all CSS and All page injection codes so I am down to bare bones and this is what I get.

    I am going to ask this here and if you can't answer this or feel it's inappropriate that's fine.  But can someone recommend another provider (like wordpress or someone else), where I can convert this and if I have to start all over then so be it.  I just can't continue with this frustration of SS.

  7. I came to my site today only to find that my site is in complete shambles.  Sections now have spacing between them that never existed before.  Images have shifted sizes for no apparent reason and the mobile site OMGod, there is spacing issues EVERYWHERE where they were none before, code blocks are taking up rows.  I was at the final end and ready to launch and now I can only sit here at 2:30 AM in the morning and feeling nothing but hurt, pain and frustration.  I have removed all the CSS codes to see if something was randomly in there and still the issues persist.  The only thing that seems to cure the spacing issue at least is that I have to recreate the section all over again, but then it messes right back up as soon as I add a video or an image back in and the mobile site is now just a waste of space.    This just can't be happening.  I have worked tirelessly on this site only to come back and find it's now a piece of sh*t.  SS you have done a number on me and I hate you for life!  I wish I had chose a better service.

  8. Does this mean that squarespace won't allow me to upload song because it says "Unable to retrieve video. Replace link or try again."  I can see the video and I've sent it to a friend who can see it.  There is a song in there and for what I am using it for, I can certainly change the song.  I'm not concerned about the "world" seeing it.  Thanks in advance.

    Hi @LoftyDevsbyWidleStudioLLP. I didn't hear from anybody so I changed it back. but it's 1920x1080 but if you toggle on the mute and autoplay, it apppears that they just go invisible so the top and bottom of the movie is is cropped by the invisible.  It's the autoplay that is doing it.  As you can see, when I have those turned off, it goes 1920x1080 I love the way it looks in my first post, I just need to figure out how I should recrop it or make it a HD Gif, but those take up unnecessary sizes.  I will see if I can think of a creative way to achieve what I want but thanks for trying.

  10. This is from a movie called the wedding year.  I uploaded a small section of it (no audio).  In the first photo you can see the padding and margins are minimal, which is fine.  But when I turn on loop video and turn player controls off, in the second video I get all the extra white space.   However, what I notice is that when I toggle them on and off, I can clearly see the the video is somehow maintaining the size of the first video.  The video is also a unusual size 2534x1056 which is more linear, which is the effect I wanted, however, I don't think the white space is margin, I think it's the video just hidden because I have looping on.

    If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears and thanks in advance.  I would make this a HD Gif but the size would be ridiculous.

    PS I've used both 7.0 and 7.1 and same difference.

  11. I guess some developer heard me and didn't like what i wrote because here we ago again.  My website looks like crap because the spacing between paragraphs is inconsistent and look at this.

    And when I add another text block on top of that to fill in the gap then the paragraphs are off.  There is just no winning with this.

  12. Thank you for that.  But that did not work but I went into the inspector and found this and this works.

    .sqs-block-spacer {
      padding-top: 0!important;
      padding-bottom: 0!important;
      min-height: 0vh!important;
    }
    I've added that to my css since I want that ability on anything that's related to 7.0 if i have to create something in 7.0.  Thank you again @Web_Solutions for pointing me to the right direction.

  13. How do I get rid of all that extra space in 7.0.  In 7.1 it's minute because it's just code AND it does not show up as an extra space but this code takes up space in editing mode and throws off the paragraph spacing in live mode.  My only alternative is to take this and put this in CSS but I have enough stuff in there and just need this code on this page.  Is there a way to make that smaller or at least invisible when I am looking at it from the live version?  Thanks.

  14. I just don't understand why this keeps happening when I make a change and then end up having to redo the entire section(s) of a page (no exaggeration).  I've uploaded a gif. Why is there so much extra spacing.  The experience is horrifying when viewing it on the web.  The inconsistency is maddening.  I've change spacing, margins, etc. and first it appears fixed, and then wammo.  I have the max width set at 1200 on purpose so that it doesn't stretch out but if a user opens their browser far out spacing once again becomes off kilter.  I understand that this is fluid engine but I know i'm not the only one who is going through this because I'm reading so many of these same stories that my head hurts but there doesn't seem to be any solution to this. Am I using the wrong browser, (chrome), should I use firefox? Do I need to try and keep my browser width the same size when I am editing (which is hard to know since I have a 34 inch curved monitor and a 16 inch macbook pro) so they are never going to be the same.  Where do I need to report this to because I understand this is a forum and thus far no one has had an answer so please just tell me where to take this higher and I will?  It costs to much money and to much time to have to constantly worry about  a spacing issue.  Thank you for listening.
