Use an anchor tag from a Simple List item to a Simple List Item on another page

Hope this isn't too confusing. I have a Simple List on one page (list 1 on Leadership page) with several items in it. On the "Read Bio" button I'd like to have it linked via anchor tag to another page where all the bios are in a Simple List (list 2 on Leadership-Bios page). I'd need each button to link to a different item in the second list. I've added code within list 2 (for example, <span id="KAISER"></span>) and then put used the link /leadership-bios#KAISER in the button for an item in list 1, but when clicking on the button it only brings me to the Leadership-Bios page and not to the specified item on that page (#KAISER). Any ideas if this can be done? I've attached a screenshot of what the anchor link on list 2 looks like.
