I'm using the wonderful code from @rwp and tips from @tuanphan but am having the same issue others have mentioned: the first couple of images fade nicely then they begin to snap again. Is there a fix for this? Happy to buy anyone a coffee for providing accurate code. Thanks so much!

@creedon That did it! I'm amazed. Thank you so incredibly much. I went through multiple Squarespace reps trying to figure out why this strikethrough appeared- so odd?! I figured because it's my first foray into 7.1 I was just missing something simple, but none of them could answer my question about how to remove it, when using Flex, or not. I appreciate your help.
