how to buy a subdomain

I am linking my SquareSpace website to a 3rd party site. They are telling me to do this I need to purchase a subdomain that is
my SquareSpace Domain with "Shop." in front of it. For example "shop.myorigdomain.com" I bought my domain through squarespace and when I tried to buy a subdomain that option doesn't come up. You can only buy a new domain.
What can I do?
