Yes, turning off animations in code is problematic currently, and doing it like this can have many unseen negative repercussions.

This code was to eliminate the site wide animation in the header section, this piece of code did that job in fact. But I didn't link it to the problems with the mobile view.
I turned off site-wide animations all together since it was creating too many unwanted effects (like lazy-load also).
