Why has Squarespace not come up with an easy solution similar to the one they have for Google Analytics?

It worked for me perfectly well. No issues on web, mobile, or tablet pages.

Here's what I did:

Step 1: Remember to change the 'XXXXXX' in the 'GTM-XXXXXX' to your GTM code though! For both Step 1 and Step 2

Paste this in the Header section of Code Injection in Squarespace.

Step 2:

Paste this snippet of code in the Footer section in Squarespace Code Injection.

Remove the Google Analytics Tracking ID if you've added it in the Settings > Advanced > External Services, Google Analytics area. This is not needed as the Google Tag Manager will directly be using the code you've just added to directly use Google Analytics data.

Voila! You're all set.

p.s Use Google Tag Assistant to check if your tags that you've set up in Google Tag Manager are working!

This thread seems to be full of spam but in case it isn't GTM can be added with

SETTINGS / ADVANCED / CODE INJECTION /

And you can add to the header and footer as per GTM instructions.

We actually add it to the footer to help with page loading times, and because we don't have any codes that need to fire in the header inside our GTM.

You can also add this to the header:

Hi All I managed to successfully inject GTM code under SETTINGS / ADVANCED / CODE INJECTION /

but when it came to LAUNCH A PREVIEW Tag Manager could not connect to a tag on my domain.  Has anyone experienced the same?  thank you
