TheGamersCat
I've got this index page on my website: https://thegamerscat.squarespace.com/media/With 4 pages within it: Info, Games, Films, and Others. And I want to have three button blocks on the top page (Info) that will bring the user down to a specific page in the index. How do I do it? I have little to none programming knowledge by the way. alxfyv
First create all the pages you want in the index page. Then, on the index page, at the place where you want the button to be, insert a Button Block. In the Edit Button dialog, click on "Clickthrough URL". Select the Content tab. In the list of pages, scroll down until you see the particular page that you want the button to link to and select it. Save everything. This will produce a standard Squarespace button with the target page title as the button text. I'm a retired attorney who was asked by a friend to build a website. In a prior lifetime, in a galaxy far, far away and long, long ago, I was a computer systems analyst / programmer. I'm a novice autodidact in CSS, JavaScript and HTML learning in part by example.. I've asked questions on this forum and been lucky enough to have others help me, so I'm inclined to answer any question I can. Pay it forward. Link to comment
TheGamersCat
Is there a way to do it that will still keep me on the index page so I can still scroll and see the other pages? Link to comment
chco
@alxfyv is correct. After looking at your links, it looks like you will need to set the "Clickthrough URL" up like this: /indexname#pagename So an example of this for you would look something like: /media#gaming-section /media#filmsz-section And so on. CantStopNow
@alxfyv I have had this question posted independently for some time with no response from anyone in the community. I have the link to my site and other info you said would be helpful there aw well. Here;s a link to that question: https://answers.squarespace.com/questions/97458/how-to-snap-to-or-auto-scroll-to-a-page-within-an-index-without-navigating-away-from-the-index-using-buttons Link to comment
AlexisT1570048206
What you're referring to is known as Anchor Links. Since you're using an Index Page, you won't have to use custom code. Squarespace has a guide for this here: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/207842357-Adding-Index-Page-anchor-links Link to comment
