How to embed a YouTube channel?

Recommended Posts

I’ve found code to embed an entire YouTube channel rather than individual videos on to a webpage. I’ve not been able to figure out if it is possible to embed my YouTube channel in to Squarespace page, how would I do it?

Has anyone figured this out yet. Would love to be able to include my YouTube channel as a gallery, without having to upload a new video manually each time. AskQuesty's video just shows you how to embed code, and not how to embed a YouTube channel.

Im with Chris on this one. I was able to embed the YouTube channel but it doesn't work the first time around. The user has to refresh the page for it to work as intended.

If you want to see what I mean check out nlccwv.org/videos and you'll see what I mean.

UPDATE:

** I just realized that if you type NLCCWV.org/videos into your search bar it will load the page with no issues but if you try to navigate to it via the website by clicking on the Media tab it won't load the first time.

Here's what worked for me:

<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/?listType=user_uploads&list=CHANNELNAME" width="100%" height="522"></iframe>

Hi, this seems a little too easy, but I was just able to add a Youtube Channel, or at least a playlist within a channel, by simply pasting the url into a Squarespace video block. Here's what I did:

1. From the Youtube Channel, click "Play All" above your list of videos.

2. This creates a playlist in Youtube. Click Share and copy the playlist shareable URL.

3. Paste the URL into a Squarespace Video Block. Don't use Youtube's embed code, use the URL.

For me, this is working perfectly. But I haven't tested yet/don't know whether it automatically adds new videos to this playlist as they're posted. I'll post an update when I find out whether or not it automatically adds new videos (once my client adds a new video).

UPDATE 6/22/20: Ok, the solution I posted was really close but not quite because it continued to show the original most recent video in the playlist. You can see how this is written into the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jha5eAMNTSg&list=UUwrA5BOmF6l_zA6QNeao11g

However, if you go to your Youtube dashboard, click on your playlist from the side panel, and click the share button, it creates a share link for the playlist only, and this updates to display the most recent video whenever you add it. Yay! You can see that this url doesn't designate a specific video: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=UUwrA5BOmF6l_zA6QNeao11g. Attaching a screenshot of what this looks like in your Youtube dashboard so you can get the right link.

Do you have Ajax loading enabled in your Site Styles? That's a likely cause of behavior like that.

I was not able to get this to work.  I added a video section, and replaced the video link in the block with the playlist code and it didn't show anything and just created an error when I clicked play.

This is my channel that I'm trying to embed:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBZkARc-tEDSDrcdko8Xc9Q?view_as=subscriber

And this is my playlist of all of our videos:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=UUBZkARc-tEDSDrcdko8Xc9Q

What am I doing wrong?

I got it to work, but had to do the opposite of what you said.

I had to get the embed code, then click the code icon and add it there, and then uncheck the use a custom thumbnail box.

Is it possible to share the url of the page where you have the video block added? This would help me figure out what you're doing wrong.

For some reason, I'm not getting notified of replies, sorry.

Page isn't public yet, but see my post right above yours. I figured it out, but it didn't work for me as it did for you.
