Can you change shipping method post-purchase?

Hi everyone,

I've had customers choose (and pay for) the wrong shipping method. Typically, people have accidentally chosen shipping when they want to pick up, or vise versa. Refunding and addressing the issue is simple on my end, but is there any way I can CHANGE the shipping method post-purchase? I'd like to be able to send the proper fulfillment email.

Specifically, I have a customer who chose my Shipping option when she meant to choose Pickup. I refunded the shipping cost. Her order is ready and I would like to send the Pickup fulfillment email with pickup information, but I only have the option to send the Shipping fulfillment email (since this is what she chose at Checkout). I also have the same problem for someone who accidentally chose Pickup instead of Shipping (this has actually been a common issue for me with those who use Apple Pay, since it chooses your delivery method for you unless you scroll and change... but that's an issue for another day).

Unfortunately, orders cannot be changed once they have been placed.

For example, if the customer chose shipping but wanted pickup, the only way to change this is to cancel the order and allow the customer to place it again correctly. An alternative workaround is to manually manage this change "off-system" but this can understandably cause administrative problems later. 

I appreciate that this is not what you wanted to hear. That said, Squarespace is not unique in this respect. Many other ecommerce systems have similar limitations.
