Why am I Seeing Traffic from Google Ads without Paying for Google Ads?

Hi all,

The past two weeks, I have seen blog traffic coming from Google Ad Network & Paid Search from Google. I have not created any ad campaigns, nor have I bought any ads. This seems like free traffic, but I would like to know what has caused this sudden influx of traffic?  My "Las Vegas with Kids" blog post has skyrocketed to #1 Google search page and the #2 overall position (from 33).

Can someone please help me understand what is going on?
