Numbuh1Nerd Posted November 20 Posted November 20 The organization I work for thought it would be fun to do a little interactivity with our holiday window display this year - a little I-Spy-type game where passerbys can photograph seven hidden objects in the window and submit them for a chance to win a small prize. The best way I could think to manage this would be with a form with a file submission block, but when I get the email confirming the file (and when the submission is automatically added to the spreadsheet), the images only come in as dead links that automatically close themselves. Ideally, I'd like another of our employees to have access to the submissions and run with the project from here, but as it stands, the only way to access the submitted photos is for an Administrator to go to the "Manage Submissions" page and download each individual photo one at a time. Is there a way around this, or perhaps even a more efficient way of handling this idea using Squarespace? I don't think anyone's even opposed to making this other employee an administrator - I just want their access to the files to be more convenient than digging through a half-dozen download links buried in the depths of Squarespace menus.
katycarlisle Posted November 21 Posted November 21 Is it possible that the image is actually downloading but without you realising? The behaviour you're describing when clicking the email link could easily be mistaken for a dead link as it does indeed open, and then quickly close, a new browser tab. However when it does that - at least for me - it also does download the image. If you've checked your downloads location and it definitely isn't there, the other possibility is that your browser (or something else on your computer like antivirus software) is somehow blocking the download. It's worth mentioning that in order to download the file from the email and/or the Google Sheets link, you will need to be logged in to the relevant Squarespace site with the relevant permissions. Oh hey! I'm Katy Carlisle, a web designer and trainer who goes by the name SQSP Queen. My pronouns are she/her and I'm based on Vancouver Island in BC 🍁 I've been using Squarespace since 2013, and work mainly with non-profits or freelancers on projects that do good. I love answering questions about Squarespace and don't expect anything in return, but if you do want to say thanks, feel free to buy me a coffee ☕
