Site background color

I don't seem to have control in the color editor to change the site background color....

The issue I am having is anytime a page doesn't vertically fill the screen you see the page background color peeking out.

Seems odd that I would have to do this via CSS....

So you can *sort of* do it by changing the background colour for your site's default colour theme.

Of course, you may have already used your site's default theme with its existing background colour across your site and not be especially inclined to change it, in which case CSS it is. 

There used to be an option to change the default theme via the mobile app but I don't think that method works any more. 

Hmmm....seems strange to not allow the user to define the page body background color.

I found what theme Squarespace is making the default but I see no way to change it.

How did it get chosen in the first place?

This seems broken.

Yeah it's not the best! It gets determined based on the template and even in the official Squarespace help article it says you can't change it
