Require a form to be filled out to download a file?

How can I make sure that visitors who want to download files must fill out a form?And then on the email the visitor receives a link to download the file or downloading otherwise starts?

Did you ever come to an acceptable solution to the “form to be filled before download” problem?

This can also be done with Mailchimp once someone subscribes to your newsletter/mailing list you can then have their first welcome email contain a download link.

You can have a form set up the way you want, and in the settings of that form you have options to change the post submitted message. What I do is add text in there that says "download here" and make that an HTML link to the file. It works fine.

It wont be pretty like the "button" button. But you can format the text to not make it horrible looking.

I too am interested in having this function added to squarespace. The other solutions people mentioned here are okay options but ideally you would be able to have the download link sent via a custom email that is specific to that form so as to make sure you get a legit email.

@geekgirlweb that also could be done in the post submitted message, once the user fill the info, instead of getting the text THANK YOU , you might add a text with a hyper link in order for the user to download the PDF. I never tried but I guess it works.
