Famouscait Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Site URL: https://bendyoga.studio/team When you click on a team members photo, I want that to take you to a new page with everyone's bios, and specifically land you on that specific person's bio. Using anchor links, clicking the photo for Sara M. will take you to the text bio page, but won't jump you down directly to Sara's bio; it leaves you at the top of the page. I added a code block above Sara's name on the bio site, but it still doesn't work from her photo. Note: none of the other photos are anchor linked yet, since I can't get my first one to work correctly. Any ideas? Thank you!
derricksrandomviews Posted October 15 Posted October 15 (edited) If the bios are in their own text block you jump to the block id. The ID can be found using a free Chrome extension found here: Squarespace block id finder. Edited October 15 by derricksrandomviews
Famouscait Posted October 15 Author Posted October 15 Ok! Each bio is it's own text block. I'll try that extension. Thank you! derricksrandomviews 1
Famouscait Posted October 16 Author Posted October 16 I used the extension and Block Id, but it's still simply jumping to the top of the bios page. If it matters, when viewing the bios page, I notice that the url changes to whatever I've linked / am trying to view. For example: Using a Code Block, bios page url appears as this, when accesed from the link: https://bendyoga.studio/team-bios-text-only-copy#sara-m As a Block Id: https://bendyoga.studio/team-bios-1#block-yui_3_17_2_1_1729112913743_13086 Not sure if that matters, but clearly it's trying to go somewhere... I just can't get it to the correct portion of the page! Any other ideas? Is there a preferred tutorial for the Block Id method? I looked at several; this one seems detailed but I am lost at what she means by using the Pages from the gear icon https://www.risingtidecreatives.com/blog/how-to-anchor-links-squarespace I am so stumped, and I greatly appreciate your assistance!
CassAggett Posted October 17 Posted October 17 @Famouscait It doesn't appear that you've created the anchor links on the team bios text only page. Try this tutorial, I've found this is the best one for anchor links: https://www.will-myers.com/articles/perfect-anchor-links-in-squarespace Instruction: How to set a site-wide password If this helped you, please like or mark my solution as answer so others can scroll to it quickly 👆 Cass Aggett is a Squarespace website designer for go-getting women – no matter what stage of business.
