Fezzy Posted October 15 Posted October 15 (edited) Hi everyone, I need some urgent advice regarding a serious issue I’m experiencing with my Squarespace account. Today, I received 10 emails, each notifying me that 10 domains were registered under my account – a total of 100 domains! I did not authorise these registrations, and upon checking my account, I can see these domains listed. The payments for all 100 domains have also been processed, which I definitely did not intend. Here are the details: My website: www.fezzyuthmani.com Number of unauthorised domains: 100 Payment status: Already charged for these domains Here’s what I’ve done so far: I immediately changed my password and enabled two-factor authentication. I contacted Squarespace Support, but I'm waiting for a response. I’ve also reached out to my bank to dispute the charges, however, they told me to wait for Squarespace response Has anyone else experienced something similar? Is there anything else I should be doing in the meantime to stop this from happening or to reverse the registrations? I would really appreciate any tips or insights from the community on how to handle this situation, especially while I wait for a response from Squarespace. Thanks so much for your help! Best, Fezzy Edited October 15 by Fezzy

Fezzy Posted October 15 Author Posted October 15 @Ziggy Yeah I am logged in for sure and I have tried those options too, no luck so far, still the same message. I think I'll try again in an hour or so.
Ziggy Posted October 15 Posted October 15 If you click on "Help" in account.squarespace.com and then click on the chat widget in the corner that would be another way to get into live chat. You may need to type in "agent" to bypass the chatbot. Please like and upvote if my comments were helpful to you. Cheers! Fezzy Posted October 17 Author Posted October 17 I've come across this guide under 'Cancelling a Squarespace domain': "If you have a custom Squarespace domain and no longer need it, cancel it immediately from your domains dashboard within five days of registration. If you registered your domain within the last five days, you can cancel the domain immediately. We measure this five-day grace period to the minute. For example, if you registered a domain at 8:00am on January 1, you can cancel until January 6 at 7:59 AM. After canceling the domain: Usually your domain will stop connecting to your site within an hour, though it may take up to 72 hours to process. If you paid for the domain, you’ll receive a refund for the full amount of the annual fee. Refunds may take 3 to 10 business days to process. If you cancel your domain within five days of the initial purchase, you'll receive a full refund. We don't offer refunds after this five-day grace period." LINK: Canceling a Squarespace domain – Squarespace Help Center However, after implementing the 2 Factor Authentication, I tried to log in to cancel each domain manually,, but unfortunately, after putting in my passkey, this message appears: "This account is currently unavailable. Please contact Customer Care." So, now I cannot access my account to even cancel the domains, to get a refund before the 5 day initial purchase. I have managed to get through Squarespace two days ago, informing them of the fraud that has been taken place, they did send me a private email and asking me to send them my ID and card number that was used for the transaction. I have sent them the required information, but have not heard from them since?

Please do inform your bank that you have given out your payment details. I don't believe Sqquarespace would ask for your card details in an email. Edited October 18 by HopelessNewbie grammar error
