Getting stuck with redirects

I've purchased from Squarespace the domain gravitationalshift.com. For simplicity and cost, I've used a google site to create a very basic web page. I've attempted to add the appropriate CNAME records and update A records to the DNS so that gravitationalshift.com is pointing at the google site, while also adding a custom URL within the Google Admin Console.  A search for www.gravitationalshift.com shows me the google site and displays the URL gravitationalshift.com.  However gravitationalshift.com gives a 404 error.  I've been trying to work out what I need to do but am struggling. I think I need to add a redirect from gravitationalshift.com, but I can't figure out how to do this.  Any advice folks?

I'm having the same 404 error issues with my domain since google workspace migrated to squarespace. I've contacted squarespace regarding this issue and have received some support. At this point we're still working on resolving the issues. Will let you know when squarespace resolves this issue. In the meantime try contacting squarespace via the help icon and explain your 404 error issue... hang in there.
